Mission: Episode 1S: Shore Leave
Location: Starbase Arcadia, The Mall, Chapel
Timeline: TBD

Ryan had opted to wear his dress uniform for the small wedding service. The last 24 hours had been such a world wind of activity to get to this point (rings, wedding dress, reception venue). He stood at the foot of the Sanctuary waiting for Callie, Charlotte and the Chaplain to arrive.

Samantha stood with her brother and couldn't help but smile. She could not remember a time when Ryan had been happier. Despite her initial caution when he had told her of the engagement, she saw now that this was the best thing in the world for him. She knew that Callie was what her brother had been missing to make him a complete person.

Commander Joseph Myers entered and walked down the aisle. He gave the siblings a nod as he got to the Sanctuary. "You ready Mister Knight."

Ryan nodded. "Aye sir."

The Chaplain signaled the Religious Programs Specialist who had been quietly positioned at a back corner desk. A press of a button started the Wedding March music.

Callie had been nervously waiting outside the chapel for the music to begin, she’d chosen an off the shoulder cream wedding dress with plenty of sparkly bling on the bodice. A modest train flowed from the back and instead of a vail she’d opted for a tiara. Her hair and makeup had been specially done, and she had a matching pair of stiletto healed cream shoes to go with her dress. “I hear the music” she looked at Charlotte.”

Charlotte Rhodes, outfitted in her own dress uniform, had uncharacteristically chosen to get her hair styled. Rather than the straight business ponytail she often wore, her hair fell in curls, bound somewhat together by a braid high in the back. As the music played, she turned to Callie and gave her a smile with had the faintest hint of a tear in the corner of her eye. She'd been honored to be included in the proceedings on this beautiful day.

"I'm pretty sure that music is for you," Charlotte said, reaching for the panel on the door. "Can't keep them waiting for the lovely bride."

As they entered the chapel Callie’s eyes fixed firmly on Ryan, she couldn’t help but smile as she proceeded down the aisle towards her husband to be.

Ryan turned and watched as Callie strolled down the aisle in time with the music. She looked breathtaking, literally. He felt a subtle nudge given to him by Samantha and heard her say, "breathe."

As she eventually reached Ryan’s side, Callie handed her flowers to Charlotte with a polite and thankful nod. Turning to look at Ryan she gently took hold of his hand.

Rhodes, for her part, used a well practiced subtle sidestep. Sliding into line behind Callie in as subtle a manner as possible, so as not to upstage the scene. She briefly caught her First Officer's eye and gave him what she hoped was an encouraging nod.

Ryan held Callie's hand as they turned to face the Chaplain. He was in awe of how beautiful she looked. She was going to be his wife in a few minutes.

Samantha had watched the moment. She realized that her initial reaction to finding out the two of them wanted to get married after only a short time of meeting one another was wrong. The proof being the expressions of love for one another and the joy they felt.

The Chaplain looked from one to the other before speaking. "We are gathered here today in the presence of God and these witnesses to join, in matrimony, Ryan Knight and Callie Vali."

The Chaplain turned to Ryan. "Ryan James Knight, do take Callie to be your lawfully wedded wife from this day forward, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"

Ryan’s eyes were locked on Callie's as he spoke. "I do."

The Chaplain then turned to Callie. " Callie Vali, do you take Ryan to be your lawfully wedded husband from this day forward, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"

Callie didn’t take her eyes off Ryan either as she she spoke. “I do.”

The Chaplain smiled at the happy couple as he placed one hand atop theirs. "Then by the power invested in me under the authority of God and the United Federation of Planets, I pronounce you husband and wife."

The Religious Programs Specialist in the corner annotated the marriage date and time for the record.

Ryan faced Callie and embraced her, giving her a soft kiss that lasted several heartbeats. He finally broke the kiss. "How does it feel to be Callie Knight?"

Callie smiled the biggest smile yet. “It feels amazing!!” She turned to look at their guests, then back at Ryan. “I can’t wait for some time alone with you.”

Samantha rolled her eyes, but with a beaming smile on her face. "You have a life time for that. Now let's go. We waste good celebration time."
