| Personal History | Samantha Renee Knight was born on the 29th of August 2259 at 2355 hours, just ten minutes prior to her brother Ryan, Samantha has always been an inquisitive type and very much a people person, which was greatly influenced by her mother and her mother's career field in Federation Diplomatic and Political organizations. She wouldn't consider herself a rule breaker, but she knew from an early age she was too free-spirited to follow in her father's footsteps and join Starfleet. Samantha loved traveling with her mother on diplomatic assignments. She would endeavor to learn as much about each different culture she was exposed to during even the shortest trips away from Earth, including learning as much of the language as possible. Samantha knew by the time she finished middle school she wanted to study about cultures throughout the Federation. She threw herself into her academics and was able to graduate high school in just three years while also participating in a concurrent college program sponsored by a local university in San Diego for two years in high school. Samantha was accepted to Stanford University Archeology and Anthropology program as a sophomore student and graduated with her Bachelor's degree by the age of 19. Samantha took first round of graduate studies at the acclaimed Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Fall and spring the next several years were intense due to the academic standards, but she summer programs for working on dig sites or on a duck blind observation of a pre-warp civilization was immensely satisfying. She earned her Master's degree by age 21. Samantha moved to Vulcan to continue her Doctorate studies at the Vulcan Science Academy. Oxford had been intense, the Vulcan Science Academy was grueling and exacting. She took nearly three years to complete her Doctorate. Samantha, with help from her mother's political connections, has been working for the Federation Science Council for the last two years. She conducted a year long cultural study of a pre-warp humanoid civilization that resembled Europe's Age of Enlightenment period circa 1600s during her first year working for the Federation Science Council. Her second year saw her at two different archeological dig sites. Samantha was rescued by a team from her brother's starship after a band of thieves and smugglers stole artifacts from the second dig site, destroying the ship that was supposed to transfer the personnel and artifacts back to Starbase Arcadia. She is one of five survivors and the only one from the archeological team to be rescued. She is currently in guest quarters for return to Starbase Arcadia pending a reassignment by the Federation Science Council. |
