Mission: Episode 1: Runner
Location: Ryan’s Quarters

Ryan stepped out of the shower and dried off quickly. He got into his pajamas and stifled a yawn as he looked at his bleary eyed reflection. He was exhausted from the transit through the storm. Four hours on and four hours off over the last twenty hours had only provided two three hour naps between three stints of intense flying through the storm. He turned and exited the fresher to a welcome surprise.

Callie was already lying in bed waiting for Ryan to come out of the bathroom, she was tired too after the onslaught of emotions during their transit through the storm. “Come on handsome” She pulled back the bedcovers and patted Ryan’s side of the bed.

Ryan walked across the bedroom and collapsed in the bed next to Callie. He gave her a quick kiss and lay on his back. "Wasn't sure you were going to swing by."

Callie gave Ryan a curious look. “Why wouldn’t I Imzadi? I know you’re tired, but I’m not going to avoid being cuddled up with you because of that.”

Ryan let out a short sigh as he looked at Callie with concern. It had been a tense period since crossing into the ion storm. He brushed a stray hair back into place. "I forgot how mentally exhausting the last day must have been for you. Picking up on everyone's emotions must have been hard."

Callie nodded as she let herself show just how exhausted she was as well. “That’s an understatement, let’s just say there’s a little man inside my head with a jackhammer right now!” She smiled a tired smile.

Ryan rubbed his temple and nodded. "I know what you mean Imzadi." He tucked Callie in close and gently massaged her scalp. "Try and get some sleep. We'll need to be up, dressed and in the conference room in three hours.

Callie smiled as she nodded and closed her eyes, Ryan had that magic touch when it came to helping her to relax. Her eyes slowly closed as she cuddled him, it wasn’t long before she was happily asleep.

Ryan felt her body relax and her breathing slow and deepen he idly continued to massage her scalp as he closed his eyes and matched her breathing. He began to drift off himself after a minute. He wasn't sure what lay ahead of them on Eta Halix, but he knew they would face it together and answer the mystery.
