As the ship and her crew become familiar with the region, they begin to learn about the issues they will face in the coming weeks. Defiant also deals with some local pirates which have been harassing shipping lanes.

Mission Summary

The USS Defiant takes an introductory tour of the sector and picks up on a distress call from the USS Howard Carter. Upon responding to the call, they find the vessel was destroyed by an attack from an Orion Vessel led by a "Vestra" and rescue several crew from the surface.
