| Physical Description | As a member of the Sartol'lo Clan, one of the clans located near the bottom of his world's oceans, Reeg'an (as he is referred to only by his family) is a powerfully-built individual. As his body is used to the heavier pressures of nearly 3000 meters underwater, his bones structure and musculature are much denser and stronger. In normal Earth gravity, while certainly not superhuman, he could easily go toe-to-toe with most of the physically strongest species known to the Federation. He has several tribal tattoos and brandings covering nearly a third of his body. Each of these represent a specific time or event in his life. While on-duty, and out of the water, he tends to keep his long hair braided with a traditional strip of Naglee'ata hide. When off-duty, he always lets his hair hang loose. |

| Personal History | (For the purpose of this bio, the Earth calender will be used) Born on the 15th of October, 2131, he is the youngest of five children from Draplo'ono and Dopina, his Clan's current Chief and Medicine Woman. He grew up in the Sartol'lo Clan, one of the few clans on Aruilae whose habitation dome is located near the bottom of his world's vast southern ocean. As he grew up, he and his siblings learned about the waters surrounding their home, including the dangers. Their father was the eldest son of the Clan Chief, as their Grandfather was and his father before him. It had become tradition that the eldest son would assume the mantle of Clan Chief, following the slaying of a La'uashan, roughly translated as "Leviathan". It is a large sea dragon that measures twelve meters long and weighing nearly 30 metric tons. The La'uashan are a rare species, as nearly 5000 had been seen over the last millenia. They are so rare that they are recognized by the Aruilae government as a precious resource, only to have the largest male harvested when a Clan Chief dies and someone steps forward to assume the mantle. If the individual fails in the attempt, the Clan is then temporarily led by the regional governor until a new Clan member comes of age, as a La'uashan can only be harvested once a generation. When Reeg'an turned four, his father became the newest Clan Chief for the Sartol'lo Clan. Once he had successfully hunted and killed the La'uashan, he took several parts for himself and his family, as was tradition. The rest of the animal was divided among the Clan. Nothing was ever wasted, hence their continued permission to perform the Hians ur Siaththattuun (Hunt of Succession). As he continued to grow, he would join his father sometimes when there were council meetings with other Clan Chiefs. During one such meeting, in 2165, right after he graduated from the Academy, and shortly before he was to become of age and earn his fourth name, the name that the outside world would know him by, Reeg'an met the young woman that would become his wife one day. Her name was Mu'gan, and she was the middle child of Cftan Chuar Kannagx Fe’liath Shi’at Taxftu and Jatnuna Luf’a Shi’at Taxftu’. The moment their eyes met, Reeg'an felt as if Dmalltona herself had breathed fire into his veins. Of course, he was unable to do anything more than smile at her as she was not old enough to be courted. They could not even share correspondence with one another, as it too would seem improper at that moment in their lives. When he and his father left the conference however, he confided in him that he had just met the girl who would one day by the woman he would marry. His father smiled and nodded, then cautioned patience. He knew that the young girl in question was already busy beyond her age, taking care of her sickly twin sister. As always, Reeg'an took his father's council to heart. While he would continue to grow stronger and become his own man one day, he would always respect the wisdom that his father would share. While he could not communicate with Mu'gan, he started a daily personal log, where he would act as if he were talking to her, telling her how his day went. He would do this, every single day, until they met again and began to court one another. For the next sixty-four years, Reeg'an served in several different commands, slowly climbing the ladder of rank and responsibility. His strong sense of honor and dependability was starting to make its way through the Fleet. There were even whispers among the high echelons that if he continued as he was, he would earn his own command possibly sooner than expected. Of course, it was his unquestionable honor that caused him not to listen to any such rumors. He had Ambitions, to be sure. However, in the present, he wanted two things. The first, he was already doing quite well….serving to protect his home and people. The second…was also about to come to fruition. Towards the end of 2229, he crossed paths with his angel for the second time. Though, unlike last time, she wasn't a little girl. Now, she was Luaiasanans (shianuu' g'aga) Siatan Mu’gan Shi'at Taxftu’, and she was a brilliant quickly rising scientist. Just as the first time their eyes had kicked, this time, Reeg'an was transfixed by her very being. He had zero doubt that she was the woman he wished to spend the rest of his days with. Of course, their culture being what it was, nothing could begin without either of their mother's approval. While his gave it to Mu'gan easily and happily, her mother was not as agreeable. While, it seemed, she held no ill-will towards Reeg'an, her animosity was aimed at her own daughter. Reeg'an would quickly learn that her mother blamed her for the death of her twin sister. In a dangerous and possibly ruinous move, Reeg'an watched as Mu'gan threatened to become Cftanftatt, or Clanless. Though her mother finally relented, Reeg'an had stood by Mu'gan's side the whole time. Once their Courtship began in earnest, he vowed to Mu'gan, then and there, that he would always be her champion, should she feel she needed it. For the next twenty-six years Reeg'an pursued Mu'gan tirelessly, yet always respectfully and honorably. As they were assigned to different ships and commands, most of their courting was done via subspace. When they were able to get leave at the same time, they would spend every available moment together. They would talk about everything: their pasts, their dreams, and the future. Then, in April of 2255, while they were enjoying one of their favorite beaches down on the planet, Reeg'an proposed, offering the same necklace that his great-grandfather had used to propose to his great-grandmother. And Mu'gan said yes! Over the next year, they made the necessary wedding plans. Then, exactly a year later, they and their families went to The Haven. While their families waited outside, Reeg'an and Mu'gan went inside and joined the Priestess of Dmalltona. After they exchanged vows and their union was blessed, the Priestess then applied a tattoo to them both. As couples could choose their own tattoos, Reeg'an and Mu'gan chose to have the main constellation of stars that was over their heads, on the night of their engagement. Once the ceremony was complete, the newly married couple exited The Haven and began their lives together. As they came from different regions, they both decided to chose a city between their two Clan homes. They ultimately decided on the domed city of Toaftughs. It was a quiet community, tucked back from the hustle and bustle, the perfect place to start a new family. 2257 - Birth of first child Dr'elnto Grator Sartol'lo Their first child, their first son was born on the 4th of Aiagiats (August). He was born on their homeworld. Both clans came to celebrate. They named him Dr'elnto. He was born with his father's blue hair and pale blue eyes with silver flecks. Reeg'an took 6 months paternity leave and spent the time with their new son in their family home which he and Siatan had built together since their wedding. When he and Siatan returned to work Dr'elnto was cared for by Siatan's spinster aunt Genna'ai. Genna'ai had never married and never dated due to her fear of their genetic history. Even though there was now a cure, Genna'ai is content to be a doting aunt and help Siatan and Mur'trah with their family. 2260 - Birth of second child Saa'into Grator Satol'lo In 2259 Siatan fell pregnant for the second time. She and Reeg'an were content with the 3 years between their children as she felt it was safer and better. She gave birth to Saa'into on the 16th of Max (May) and the family celebrated the birth of their second son. Saa'into, like his older brother, had his father's blue hair but his mother's grey eyes. This time Reegan took 8 months paternity leave, choosing to spend time with both their sons. There was some family drama as Siatan's mother however complained about it and accused Siatan of abandoning her job. Reeg'an and Siatan ignored her mother and with Genna'ai's help went no contact with her mother and low contact with the clan she was born into. 2263 - Birth of third child Mi'arathi Grator Sartol'lo In late 2263 on the 24th of Nu'anfta (November) the family welcomed their first and currently only daughter Mi'arathi. Her hair was teal but had violet tips and it curled where her siblings hair was straight and she had pale purple eyes. Mi'arathi's father was instantly smitten and Siatan merely laughed at his face when he held their daughter. Their sons welcomed their sister without much fuss, and this time his paternity leave was 9 months. And while they was on family leave, Mur'trah and Siatan discussed applying for the exchange officer program that the Aurilae were undertaking with the Federation. They applied shortly after Mi'arathi 1st birthday. 2266 - USS Defiant They found out they had been chosen as exchange officers in early 2266 and with their family and Genna'ai in tow made their way to Arcadia station to await the USS Defiant, the posting selected for them. Siatan’s mother tried to stop it but it didn't work and the family was able to depart without issue. Their children and Genna'ai will be housed on Arcadia station as the Defiant does not have family quarters. Due to their racial traits they have specialised quarters on the Defiant. While the majority of it remains standard, there are two wall waterfalls, one in the bedroom and one in the main lounge and in the lounge is a shallow pool near the window so they can remain hydrated. Under their unforms they wear their race's hydration suits. |
