| General Overview | Siatan is stubborn, and defiant, or so says her mother. But she has a stubborn streak and her own moral compass which she uses to determin her path She can be quiet around new people but warms up quickly. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | Good eyesight - can see for kilometres underwater and on land Sensitive hearing - Can hear very well beneath water and on land. Their lungs are designed to filter O2 from water as if they were breathing normal air. If out of water for longer than 12 hours without their protective suit, they will start to dehydrate and can die. Dairy causes bad issues with their digestions - makes them violently ill. Unable to drink beverages from other planets, unless it is water. This messes with their biology. Heat and Solar - If on a world with extreme solar rays and heat, this will weaken them to extremes. And can cause their death. Extreme cold is not a favourite thing, and like extreme heat can cause death if they are not cautious. |

| Personal History | Siatan is the middle of 5 children with 2 older brothers and two younger sisters. She is the first born of twins. Her parents had many miscarriages after her second brother was born, which is why there is a big gap between her and him. She was born 6 minutes before her twin sister. Mu'gan and Mar'uta were identical twins, both having the same hair and facial features. The only way to tell them apart was that while Mu'gan was always a healthy weight and size, her sister was not due to the genetic illness that came from their maternal linage. It was not expected that Mar'uta would make it to her coming of age because of it. Growing up she found herself often looking after her twin as she was always sick, and her parents were always busy. Her father was a clan chief and her mother was in regional politics. Their marriage was deemed successful as they had 5 children and for many years tried to increase their clan with more. But after Siatan’s youngest sibling was born 5 years after the twins, they stopped due to doctors orders. While her parents were so busy, Siatan, known then as Mu’gan, then for she had not earned her name, was often the main carer for the family. She resented this a bit and spent as much time as she could at school, studying. 2145- 2158 - SCHOOLING Schooling from age 4 to 17 is customary among her people. Mu’gan enjoyed school, studying everything she could get her hands on. She loved exploring their planet, learning about the diverse life. In her senior schooling she learnt about biology and thus her passion for that strand of science was born. She graduated her school top in her grade in the sciences. Her twin barely went to school and was homeschooled by a governess their parents had employed. Their mother was climbing the political ladder in the planetary government and their father was a well respected clan chief so the governess was employed to look after the children but to be honest, she focused mainly on Mar'uta and ignored the others. 2159-2166 - University Schooling After her standard schooling, Mu'gan applied to the best Planetary university where she threw herself into studying Biology and genetics. She would spend five years there completing her degree in the top 3% of her class. 2165 - First meeting of future husband The year before graduation she was at home on break when she joined her father when he hosted other clan chiefs. It was there she would meet the man who would eventually become her husband. He was close to being of age and was 10 years her senior. She admitted to herself and herself only that he was very impressive. But she was not allowed to date or even consider it because her parents refused to allow it as Mu’gan’s job was to study and find a cure for her sister’s illness and look after her in her down time. 2167-2171 - Military Schooling After graduating from University Mu'gan was looking for something to do and her older brother suggested that she go into the military as they would always need scientists. So she spent 4 years in military training. It should be noted that her mother and father were NOT impressed with this, and argued against it as it would take Mu’gan away from her sister and be their nurse for her. 2171- 2219 Military postings 2171 - Hxg'a - An explorer class vessel. Upon her graduation Mu'gan was assigned to the Hxg'a, an explorer Class vessel. She didn’t aim for anything major, content to sit around in a lab with samples from the various planets they visited. Every leave she had, she was back at the family home and looking after her sister as her parents demanded she do so. 2176 - Coming of age Ceremony She and her sister both attended the Temple of Therunto on their 35th birthday to undertake the Coming of Age Ceremony. Mu’gan was instructed by her parents to make sure her sister was cared for during the ceremony but the priests separated them thus Mu’gan was allowed to pray for herself. At the end of the Ceremony she was called forth and given the name Siatan and her sister was named Safi’ia. Siatan, was very happy with her new name, as it meant Independant Flower. She loved her sister but hated the fact that she was always made to look after her. She returned back to her posting the very next day and made sure to use her new name. 2189 - Promotion to Luaiasanans shianuu' g'aga - Transfer to Mu'nungtsa' Ssasuun Siatan was promoted in 2189 and found herself transferred to Mu’nungtsa’ station. She had not asked for the transfer, and found out that it was her mother who, was now Munutsa' ru' T'aga - Minister of Trade. Angry didn’t describe her response, more so when she found that she was not given quarters on the station and was expected to shuttle between her home and work daily. Siatan was not happy and made it abundantly clear to her superiors and her family. She began spending more time on duty and refusing to return to the planet after shift. Her superiors agreed and she was after 12 months given quarters on the starbase. 2201-2219 - Sufta' thhata' - Ssung'ax class Siatan was transferred to a new posting. She was a junior science officer a d was restricted to the ship during it's long exploration voyage. She was not allowed to go on away missions or do anything other than sit on the bridge. She spent 18 years trying to get back to a proper posting. It was her punishment for defying her mother, she knew this. 2219 - Twin Sister passes away Her twin sister died in 2219 due to a genetic disorder. This threw the family into mourning for several months, and Siatan took leave from her posting to support her family. She was welcomed home and put to work organising the funeral while her parents hosted the clan and other relatives. 2220 - Science Ministry posting Siatan moved to a posting at the Science Ministry about 7 months after her sister died. She took on a project that she kept secret from her superiors. It was her working on a cure for the genetic disorder that killed her sister and affected 2 out of 5 females in her clan. Over the next 15 years she worked hard to come up with a cure. She was looking towards her future and knew that there was a likelihood that any child she would have, if female, would have the same illness. During this time, she met again, Reeg'an Grator Sartol'lo, now known as Mur'trah Reeg'an Grator Sartol'lo. It was 2229 when they met again. As per their culture, any courtship would have to be confirmed by the Matriarch of the family. Siatan’s mother was not very forthcoming with her approval. She was still hurting from Safi’ia’s death and she thought that Siatan was nowhere near ready for a courtship. But in reality she was punishing Siatan for being alive. Siatan was not impressed with her mother’s actions and told her that she needed to stay out of Siatan’s life as she had, had enough over the past 88 years of being her mother’s crutch and slave. She was not Safi’ia, and she was tired of being treated as such. She swore that if her mother continued to interfere then she would sever all connection with the clan. And become Cftanftatt - Clanless. Her mother being in the Planetary Government would face the stain and ridicule and lose her position, and her father would be forced to step down from the clan chief role, and her brothers would be banned from trying to compete with the others for the role of Clan Chief. Their family would be the lowest in the clan. Her mother backed off reluctantly. 2236-2250 - La'uashan Hiansa'- Othaan Matsa' class In 2236 she was finally promoted to full Lieutenant and was transferred to the La'uashan Hiansa' as their head Biologist and assistant chief of science. She was in contact with Mur'trah Reeg'an Grator Sartol'lo as their courtship began to develop. Her mother had finally given permission and she had been granted permission from his mother as well. Due to their postings their communication was done via video net. 2251-2255 - Research complete, cure found. In 2251 to 2255 Siatan's research was coming to competition. It had entered the trial stage and the cure was looking promising. She transferred back to Aqald and the science Ministry where she would remain for the foreseeable future. When in 2254 the cure was perfected, Siatan received accolades from the Aruilae science community as well as the political arena. Her cure was reviewed by the vulcans and it was agreed that it would work. In 2255, the first lot of immunisations were done. Siatan and her youngest sister Fia’ana Rakia Shi’at Taxftu’ were first in line. Neither wanted to pass on the disorder if they were carriers. Siatan would remain at the Science Ministry and work on different projects, all the while, undergoing the courtship with Mur'trah. In 2255 he proposed and she accepted. They would marry in 2256. 2256 - Marriage Because they were from different regions they chose to make their home in a city between their two regions. They purchased a house in the city of Taaftughs. And they enjoyed the process as they were able to purchase what they wanted and not what their parents may want to have. The house they purchased was in a quiet suburb and was a five bedroom house which Siatan loved and could renovate. They had plans to have children to fill the house. 2257 - Birth of first child Dr'elnto Grator Sartol'lo Their first child, their first son was born on the 4th of Aiagiats (August). He was born on their homeworld. Both clans came to celebrate. They named him Dr'elnto. He was born with his fathers blue hair and pale blue eyes with silver flecks. Siatan took 6 months maternity leave and spent the time with her son in their family home which she and Mur'trah had built together since their wedding. When Siatan returned to work Dr'elnto was cared for by her spinster aunt Genna'ai. Genna'ai had never married and never dated due to her fear of their genetic history. Even though there was now a cure, Genna'ai is content to be a doting aunt and help Siatan and Mur'trah with their family. 2260 - Birth of second child Saa'into Grator Satol'lo In 2259 Siatan fell pregnant for the second time. She was content with the 3 years between their children as she felt it was safer and better. She gave birth to Saa'into on the 16th of Max (May) and the family celebrated the birth of their second son. Saa'into, like his older brother, had his fathers blue hair but his mother's grey eyes. This time Siatan took 8 months maternity leave choosing to spend time with both her sons. Her mother however complained about it and accused Siatan of abandoning her job. Siatan ignored her mother and with Genna'ai's help went no contact with her mother and low contact with the clan she was born into. After her maternity leave, Siatan returned to her work. 2263 - Birth of third child Mi'arathi Grator Sartol'lo In late 2263 on the 24th of Nu'anfta (November) the family welcomed their first and currently only daughter Mi'arathi. Her hair was teal but had violet tips and it curled where her siblings hair was straight and she had pale purple eyes. Mi'arathi's father was instantly smitten and Siatan merely laughed at his face when he held their daughter. Their sons welcomed their sister without much fuss, and this time her maternity leave was 9 months. And while she was on maternity leave, Mur'trah and Siatan discussed applying for the exchange officer program that the Aurilae were undertaking with the Federation. They applied shortly after Mi'arathi 1st birthday. 2266 - USS Defiant They found out they had been chosen as exchange officers in early 2266 and with their family and Genna'ai in tow made their way to Arcadia station to await the USS Defiant, the posting selected for them. Siatan’s mother tried to stop it but it didn't work and the family was able to depart without issue. Their children and Genna'ai will be housed on Arcadia station as the Defiant does not have family quarters. Due to their racial traits they have specialised quarters on the Defiant. While the majority of it remains standard, there are two wall waterfalls, one in the bedroom and one in the main lounge and in the lounge is a shallow pool near the window so they can remain hydrated. Under their uniforms they wear their race's hydration suits. |
