| Personal History | Subat was born on Vulcan in 2214 to a family of prominent scientists. From a young age, he demonstrated a strong aptitude for science and an insatiable curiosity about the world around him. He was trained in the Vulcan Science Academy, where he excelled in various scientific disciplines, particularly astrophysics and quantum mechanics. In his early career, Subat worked on several Vulcan science vessels, studying different celestial phenomena and participating in various scientific experiments. Following the destruction of Vulcan in 2258, he made the controversial choice to instead join Starfleet. The withdrawal of his people away from the interspecies cooperative force struck him as a mistake. Motivated by a duty to both his people and the Federation at large, he enlisted in Starfleet and was granted the transfer commission of Lieutenant JG. He continued to serve throughout the corse of the next few years on several vessels before ultimately joining the crew of the USS Maui, where he served with then Commander Charlotte Rhodes. When Rhodes ultimately was granted command of the newly constructed USS Defiant, Subat chose to follow his commander as Interrim Chief Science Officer, until a more permanent replacement might be chosen. |
